Eligibility Criteria of Mandela Rhodes Scholarship for African Students:
- Open to citizens of any African country.
- Applicants must be between 19 and 29 years old at the time of application.
- Candidates must have a strong academic record, usually above 70% or an upper-second class Honours equivalent.
- The scholarship supports postgraduate studies, including Honours or Master’s degree programs at recognized universities in South Africa.
- Students who are currently completing their undergraduate degree may also apply, but they must obtain their degree before 1 January 2027.
- Applicants must be able to study in English, as English is the primary language of instruction at most South African universities.
