Eligibility Criteria for Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship 2023 in Switzerland:

Applicants must fulfill the following criteria to be considered for Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship Program:

  • Age:

Applicants must be no older than 40 years of age at the time they apply for the fellowship.

  • Nationality:

To be eligible for the fellowship, candidates must be citizens of a country listed as a low- or middle-income BWC State Party by the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee. It’s recommended that applicants check if their country is on this list to confirm their eligibility.

  • Education:

Applicants must have finished a degree in life sciences or a related field from a university or institution that is recognized. If they have studied social sciences but have an interest in biosecurity and health security, then they may also be considered.

  • Language proficiency:

Aspiring candidates must possess strong English language skills in both written and spoken modules.

Timeline of Y4B Fellowship in Switzerland:

  1. The Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship is a 3-month program that is designed to be flexible and accommodate fellows’ work or academic schedules.
  2. The program includes various activities such as an Online Biosecurity Diplomacy Workshop, an online briefing on the Working Group, and a five-day field visit in Geneva during the meetings of the BWC Working Group.
  3. The Online Biosecurity Diplomacy Workshop will run from 24 May to 28 June, with one session per week that will last for two to three hours.
  4. In July 2023, fellows will attend an online briefing on the Working Group.
