Applications for NHR Scholarships in Germany are currently open for 2026-2029 session. This funded scholarship program is an excellent opportunity for students to pursue their research studies in Germany. The scholarship in Europe for international students will provide 2200 Euros per month for up to 3 years. Students will get a chance to work on advanced and innovative research projects in the field of High-Performance Computing (HPC). They will be supervised by leading researchers. Scholars will participate in workshops and training programs conducted by professionals. These sessions will teach latest knowledge and skills in HPC.
The NHR scholarship program is exclusively for students who have an interest in High-Performance Computing. The fellowship program 2026 invites students from computer science, engineering or natural sciences, mathematics, or related fields. Selected students will pursue their Ph.D. at one of the nine NHR Centers affiliated with German Universities. These centers are located in different cities across Germany. Each NHR centre offers various research fields for Ph.D. theses. During NHR PhD scholarship, students will conduct research for 6 months outside the selected focus at another NHR Centre as secondment.

Eligibility Criteria for NHR Scholarships 2026 in Germany:
- Students of all genders and backgrounds can apply for PhD scholarship at NHR.
- Applicants must have completed a master’s degree program in the fields of computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, engineering, or a related field.
- Applicants should fulfill the admission requirements for doctoral studies of the respective NHR Center.
- Applicants must read and meet the additional acceptance requirements mentioned in the subject-specific doctoral regulations.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
