KAIST Visual AI internship in South Korea is open to undergraduate students who are interested in developing machine learning tools for visual data. Advanced technologies for processing, interpreting, and generalizing different visual data formats are being researched at the KAIST Visual AI Group. Interns will gain hands-on research experience through various activities, including coding assignments based on recent research topics.

Research areas include diffusion and flow-based generative models, generative models for diverse data types, 3D generation and editing, foundation models (LLMs / VLMs), neural rendering, neural operators, and video generative models. Interns will work on a small-scale research project based on an idea provided by the group, or they may propose their own idea.

This paid internship includes weekly paper-discussion meetings, as well as lighter sessions to briefly review recent papers. This experience will help undergraduate students build skills that can be useful for future graduate-level research. Please note that payment is only available for students enrolled in universities in Korea due to administrative restrictions; international students from abroad can apply but cannot be paid.

Eligibility Criteria for KAIST Visual AI Internship in South Korea:

Applicants applying:

  • Should have prior experience in developing any deep learning techniques.
  • Will be given preference who have taken the courses Diffusion Models and Their Applications or Machine Learning for 3D Data.
  • Should be physically present in the lab during the internship period.
  • Will be preferred who can extend their internship for the next semester. (They might have the option to do remote work).
  • Should commit to complete the internship for at least 8 weeks.
  • Will only be paid if they are enrolled in a University inside Korea.
