Applications are now open for the AIxBio Fellowship in UK 2027. The fully funded research program is offered by ERA in partnership with the Cambridge Biosecurity. Scheduled for 10 weeks, the fellowship will take place from 18 January to 26 March, 2027 in Cambridge, UK. TheCambridge Research Fellowship 2027 will focus on addressing biosecurity risks caused by advances in frontier AI. Through the fellowship in UK, researchers will get an opportunity to design and work on personalised research projects. The program includes different events such as speaker sessions, networking opportunities, and skills workshops.
Selected fellows will receive a stipend of £10,000 along with visa and travel support. During the fully funded research fellowship , fellows will be paired with a mentor and will work under the supervision of an assigned research manager. They will have access to a collaborative community of researchers. The fellowship in UK will bring together researchers having backgrounds in AI/ML, biology, policy, or related fields. For this fellowship, around 15 fellows will be selected in different tracks.
In Research track, participants will turn an open biosecurity question into a tractable project. They will have develop evidence, methods or tools that can change research or policy decisions. In Placement track, fellows will join a biosecurity team and own a real work stream in research, engineering, policy or implementation. In Founding track, individuals will test whether a neglected biosecurity gap warrants a dedicated organisation and how to build one.
