The UNESCO Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads Photo Contest is back for its 8th edition, inviting young people aged 14 to 25 years from around the world to participate. The UNESCO Photo Contest promotes photography as a means to encourage cultural interaction, mutual understanding, and peace among people living in regions connected by the Silk Roads. Don’t miss this chance to share your vision with the world!
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that aims to promote international collaboration through education, science, and culture. The Silk Roads Programme is an initiative launched by UNESCO to promote cultural exchange and cooperation among the countries connected by the ancient Silk Roads. These programs aim to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the Silk Roads and enhance mutual understanding among different cultures.
This year, the 8th edition’s theme is “Living Heritage along the Silk Roads,” inviting young photographers to capture how traditions, cultural expressions, and ritual practices reflect the interconnected histories of peoples across these regions. By visually celebrating living heritage, the goal is to inspire young people to appreciate cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, and shared human experiences.
