Eligibility Criteria of the Rhodes Scholarship 2026, UK:

  • First, you need to be from one of the countries or regions that can apply. If your country isn’t listed, there’s still a chance to apply through the Global Scholarship.
  • There’s an age limit for each country, and you have to be within that range. It’s important to check the rules for your country to see if you qualify.
  • You should either already have a bachelor’s degree or be close to finishing one by the time you start at Oxford. The scholarship is for master’s or PhD-level studies.
  • Good grades are really important. While there isn’t one specific GPA, most students who get the scholarship have very strong academic records – usually around a GPA of 3.7 or higher (or whatever that equals in your country).
  • If English isn’t your first language, you’ll need to show that you can meet Oxford’s English language standards.
  • If you’re from the US, Canada, or applying globally, you’ll also need a nomination or endorsement from your university. This just means a senior person at your school supports your application.
  • And finally, if you’ve tried applying for this scholarship before but didn’t get it, you can try again once more, as long as you still meet all these rules.
