Applications for “The Silk Road Program” OUC Chinese Government Scholarships 2025 in China are now open for talented students from all across the world to study in Chinese Universities. During this international scholarship program, Master’s and Doctoral students will get a chance to study Chinese Language for 1 year. All admitted students in Chinese universities will get living stipends according to their study programs. Students will not have to pay tuition fees and will also be offered accommodation on campus of OUC.
This funded scholarship program for bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students is offered in different fields including physical oceanography, aquaculture, Food Science and Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology. Students can select and apply to the program that best suits their academic background and interest. This is an excellent opportunity to meet fellow students from across the world and learn from their experiences and knowledge.
Students from South-East Asian countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia), Pacific Island countries (Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu), Indian Ocean Rim countries (Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Pakistan, Bangladesh) and other countries participating the Belt and Road Initiative are eligible to apply for this international scholarship program in China. OUC will review the application forms and nominate candidates. These nominated students will be funded by the Chinese Government Scholarships to study in China after approval by the China Scholarship Council.

Eligibility Criteria for OUC Chinese Government Scholarship 2025 in China:
- Applicants must have excellent academic record.
- Applicants should have high school diploma or its equivalent to apply for bachelor’s programs, and should be under the age of 25 while applying.
- Applicants must have bachelor’s degree to apply for master’s programs and should be under the age of 35 while applying.
- Applicants must have master’s degree to apply for doctoral programs and should be under the age of 40 while applying.
- Students who are applying for Chinese-taught majors must have a score above 180 in HSK.
- Students who are from non-English speaking countries and are applying for English-taught majors should have IELTS ≥ 5.5, TOFEL > 80, or provide Certificate of equivalent English proficiency Certificate/ proof that you have studied in English countries.
- Applicants should meet the admission requirements and criteria of Ocean University of China.
- Chinese government scholarship students are not allowed to get any other scholarships during their studies period.

How to apply for OUC Chinese Government Scholarship in China:
- Applicants should pay application fee of 400 RMB through bank transfer on OCEAN UNIVERSITY OF CHINA, A/C 226007730053.
- Applicants should mention their passport name in English in notes.
- Applicants have to scan and send the remittance voucher to iec@ouc.cdu.cn.
- Applicants have to apply through online application.
- First sign in to “The information management system of Chinese government scholarship” and click “Application Online” to log in.
- Enter the information asked in the form.
- Complete and submit the form for Chinese Government Scholarship.
- Send the required application documents to iec@ouc.edu.en and mention Application for “The Silk Road Program” Chinese Government Scholarship in the subject line of your email.
Documents required for OUC Chinese Government Scholarship 2025 in China:
- Filled application form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English).
- Scanned copy of passport (validity of at least 12 months is required).
- Notarized highest diploma.
- Academic transcripts (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral)
