With the increasing use of AI in everyday life, safety concerns are also rising. To address this issue, SASH offers a 3-month Singapore AI Safety Fellowship. The fully funded fellowship is designed for emerging researchers from around the world. Through this initiative, Singapore aims to promote cross-regional collaboration.
Under the mentorship of experienced researchers, fellows will conduct research on challenges related to secure AI systems. The fully paid fellowship will run from 21 September – 4 December, 2026, in Singapore. Participants will receive a stipend of $5000 SGD per month along with housing and travel expenses coverage.
Before the in-person AI fellowship, researchers can join a virtual info session on 1st July, 2026. For the training program, fellows will be placed in SASH’s hub in Chinatown. Additionally, trainees will participate in talks, workshops, and seminars. By attending social and community events, fellows will develop a network with mentors and fellow participants. Eligibility Criteria for Singapore AI Safety Fellowship 2026:
- Applicants must be willing to work in an international and collaborative environment.
- Candidates should have track record of strong technical research.
- Candidates should’ve interest in AI’s development and must be comfortable to work across different cultures and disciplines.
- Fellows must be available to work full-time for three months in Singapore.
