The institute also offers German-language courses so that fellows can connect and communicate in the host country. ISTA research fellowship projects will be carried out in a supportive and unique environment. Fellows will use state-of-the-art scientific facilities and equipment in scientific computing, imaging and optics, (cryo-) electron microscopy, nano-fabrication, pre-clinical studies, a machine shop, and a NMR facility.

Eligibility Criteria for ISTA Postdoctoral Fellowships in Austria 2025-26:

The research fields of applicants should be supported by ISTA. Details available at: (https://ist.ac.at/en/research)
Applicants should already have a PhD degree or anticipate to complete their PhD degree before starting the fellowship program.
Applicants will get fellowship contract after providing a copy of diploma or evidence of successful defense.
Researchers who are already employed at ISTA before September 1, 2025 cannot apply for this program.
