Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships 2027-28 in the UK is a prestigious fully funded scholarship opportunity for talented and motivated individuals from eligible low and middle-income Commonwealth countries to come to the UK and pursue a full-time taught master’s degree. This UK scholarship enables students to develop their skills and enhance their knowledge in their desired fields without a major financial burden on their shoulders. The basic purpose of this Commonwealth scholarship is to enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, particularly those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.

The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship 2027 is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to support sustainable development. The Commonwealth scholarships are offered under six CSC development themes, covering areas such as science and technology for development, strengthening health systems and capacity, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, strengthening peace, security and governance, strengthening resilience and response to crises, and access, inclusion and opportunity. These themes aim to support individuals who can contribute to development in their home countries.

Commonwealth Scholars have opportunities to connect with other scholars and alumni, share experiences, and build professional and academic networks. The Commonwealth Scholarship programme has had a far-reaching impact over the years. Since 1959, more than 31,000 people have received a Commonwealth Scholarship or Fellowship. Commonwealth Alumni include prime ministers and cabinet ministers, Nobel Prize winners, academics, diplomats, writers, and leaders in major NGOs and business organisations.

By becoming a Commonwealth Scholar, individuals join a global community of Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni. They have opportunities to build connections and use the knowledge, skills, and networks gained through their scholarship to contribute to development and positive change in their home countries. Commonwealth Alumni can also engage with CSC alumni networks, events, and activities that support continued professional development and collaboration.
