CCMP COP29 Reporting Fellowship is a fully funded conference in Azerbaijan for individuals interested in covering the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) led by Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) and the Stanley Center for Peace and Security. The Climate Change Media Partnership COP29 Reporting Fellowship which is being hosted by Azerbaijan this year, is set to take place in Baku over 12 days, from November 11 to November 22, 2024.

As part of this fully funded conference, fellows will have pre-COP virtual workshops to meet the team, review reporting options, and ask any questions related to the program before COP29 begins. They will also receive technical assistance and instructional materials to help them get ready for reporting during the conference. During their two weeks on the ground in Baku, Fellows will participate in a range of specially crafted activities, such as an orientation session with experienced climate journalists and experts on the main issues at this COP, daily briefings, networking events, and interviews with high-ranking officials. EJN trainers and experienced journalists with prior experience covering UN climate conferences will also guide them.

During the COP29 fellowship, fellows are required to contribute pieces for their media outlets consistently. Reporters can create content for print, web, radio, television, and other media. The organization will encourage fellows to create stories on specific theme issues by offering extra training or activities relating to these subjects as part of the program. Fellows can create stories in any language but they should translate them into English so a wider audience can understand them.

CCMP COP29 is a fully funded journalism conference in Baku so all the costs will be covered by the host organization. Fellows will be provided airfare, accommodation, meals, transportation, travel insurance, and all other logistical support needed for this program. So, if you have an interest and are also experienced in work related to climate change, climate policies, and other issues related to the environment, this is a great platform for you to learn and gain experience by working on real-life media projects. What is holding you back from grabbing this amazing opportunity in Azerbaijan?
