The METI Japan Government Internship Program 2026 is a remarkable government funded internship in Japan for international students from developing countries. This internship is available in both online and in person formats. Applicants can choose the program that best fits their situation and availability. The remote internship program is suitable for participants who cannot visit Japan due to other commitments. Those who can travel to Japan can participate in the in person internship program to gain real-time experience working in a Japanese company.

This METI Government of Japan internship will give international talent the chance to learn about Japanese job responsibilities and gain valuable experience from their supervisors. This year, the METI internship program also aims to support interns even after the end of their internship. Furthermore, it will connect interns with potential job opportunities in Japan and offer Japanese language training as part of the program support.

The fully funded internship will help Japanese small and medium-sized businesses expand internationally by enhancing their internal structure and attracting skilled international talent. Businesses with their main offices in Japan will host these in-person internships, while online internships will be managed remotely by the host company in the intern’s home country. In-person internships will take place in Japan after interviews and matching conducted by the program office. After matching, interns will be placed with different companies.

This internship in Japan offers many benefits, including airfare, accommodation, a daily allowance for both online and in-person programs, and support for necessary equipment for remote work. Beyond these practical benefits, interns will meet people from around the world and learn from their diverse knowledge and experiences. This international exposure during the Japan Government internship will help interns excel in their careers and contribute positively to their personal and professional growth.
