Commonwealth Youth Photography Competition 2026 (Prizes and Recognition)

The Commonwealth Youth Photography Competition 2026 is a great opportunity for young people who enjoy photography and storytelling. This international competition invites youth from Commonwealth countries to share meaningful photos connected to this year’s theme, “Waves of Change.” The theme focuses on oceans, rivers, lakes, nature, and the communities that depend on them. Through this competition, participants can use photography to highlight important environmental and social issues happening around the world.

The competition is organized by the Royal Commonwealth Society, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the City of London Youth Natural Environment Board. It is open to young people aged 18 to 30 who are citizens of or living in a Commonwealth country. Participants only need to submit one original photograph under one of the four categories. These categories include ocean connections, environmental challenges, community resilience, and innovative solutions to protect marine life and water ecosystems.

One of the best things about the Commonwealth Youth Photography Competition 2026 is that anyone can apply, including beginners. Professional cameras are not required because smartphone photography is also accepted. In addition, there is no application fee. Winners and finalists will receive international recognition, and selected photographs will be showcased at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026 in Antigua and Barbuda. The organizers have also confirmed that prize details will be announced later on the official competition website.
