The 18th Japan International MANGA Award 2024 is a Fully Funded trip to Japan for artists who have a keen interest in MANGA and comic art. The International MANGA Award was established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2007 to promote global understanding and international exchange through well-recognized MANGA culture. This international art award recognizes MANGA artists who have made significant contributions to the global growth of MANGA culture. Art is a universal language that has always been used to give multiple messages through drawings, sketches, and paintings.
The best cartoon work among the entries will get the MANGA Gold Award from the Japan International MANGA Award, three additional outstanding works will receive Silver Awards, and about eleven other works will receive Bronze Awards. Bronze Award winners will get certificates, while Gold and Silver Award winners will get trophies. A manga work that is more appreciated than the other Bronze Award submissions but does not qualify for the Silver Award may get the Special Encouragement Award. There will be certificates for the Special Encouragement Award winners.
In this international art competition, The Japan Foundation will welcome prize recipients of Gold and Silver Awards to Japan for around 7 days to participate in the award ceremony. The award ceremony will take place in Tokyo which has a fusion architecture of modern and wooden buildings. The participants will also pay courtesy calls to publishing houses, cartoonists in Japan, and other organizations. Eligibility Criteria for Japan MANGA Award Program 2024:
- The work entries submitted for the award must be more than 16 pages in total.
- You can submit both your published and unpublished pieces of art.
- You cannot submit the work that has already been selected for any award previously.
- Your work must be created within the last three years, not older than this.
- The work submitted should not damage any third party’s intellectual property rights.
- The work should originally be created by the applicants and not anyone else.
- The entries sent by completely using AI or any other such tool will not be accepted.
- If AI is used, mention it in the form to which extent it has been used.
- The work submitted should be in printed form or PDF form.
- You can send only one entry not more than this.
- The applicants should not be a nationals of Japan.

- Enter your email address correctly.
- Select the category according to your work.
- Mention your experience regarding cartoon artwork.
