Are you a passionate writer engaged in literary creation? If yes, the Switzerland Writers Residency 2027 offers an exclusive opportunity for you. The fully funded program is designed to support literary writers and translators. Depending on the disciplines of literary projects, the residencies will be undertaken individually or in pairs. The opportunity is open to authors and emerging writers from around the world without any age or nationality restrictions. Residencies will last according to the project scope, taking place from two weeks to three months.
The theme of this program is nature writing including fiction or creative non-fiction that raises awareness of nature. Selected candidates will stay at the Jan Michalski Foundation which is at the foot of the Swiss Jura Mountains in Montricher. Residents will have access to a kitchen and common living area to socialize and relax while cooking together. During the residency in Switzerland, writers will get a chance to participate in different cultural activities.
For individual projects, residents are allocated a cabin to live independently. For projects in pairs, a separate cabin will be assigned to each of the selected candidates. The Foundation will cover travel costs and offers a weekly allowance. Moreover breakfast and lunch will also be provided. Residents will have access to the library and can also use electric bikes.
