The Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) is accepting applications for Digital Humanism Fellowship in Austria for the session 2025-2026. The funded fellowship program is an excellent opportunity for competent scholars to conduct innovative research on digital society. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend according to their academic qualification. This stipend amount will be used to cover travel, accommodation, living expenses, health insurance and other additional expenses.
The benefits of this international fellowship program extend beyond the monthly stipend. During their stay in Vienna, visiting fellows will receive an office space, internet access, and full use of IWM’s in-house research and administrative facilities at no additional cost. Fellows may also access the institute’s in-house lunch service and participate in academic events and community activities. Each year, the program hosts one Senior Visiting Fellow for a one-month term, alongside Junior Visiting Fellows who spend three consecutive months at the IWM to pursue their research projects.
Fellows will work with researcher community of the institute. They will participate in different research related activities. During their stay, researchers will also organize lectures and conferences for public audience of Vienna and beyond. Fellows who have completed their doctoral degree program and, those who are currently pursuing their doctoral degree can also apply for this global fellowship program in Europe.

Eligibility Criteria for Digital Humanism Fellowship in Austria:
- Senior Visiting Fellowships are awarded to researchers by invitation only.
- For Junior Visiting Fellowship, applicants must be currently doing their doctoral degree or have already done their PhD within the last four years.
- Applicants should have either completed their doctoral degree or currently pursuing their doctoral degree.
