Applications are closing soon for the Council of Europe traineeship program 2026-2027. The paid traineeships offer an exceptional chance to work in an international and dynamic environment. Around 80 traineeship opportunities are available for this year. Selected individuals will work on unique projects under the supervision of experts from across Europe. The international program will also help participants to develop their professional skills and network. Trainees will receive a monthly stipend according to their role and working location.
Through the Council of Europe internship program, participants will get a chance to begin their international career in legal affairs, human rights, public health, international co-operation, public policy design or support services such as human resources, political and legal advice, IT, catering or communication. Eligibility Criteria for Council of Europe Traineeship Program 2026-27:
- Applicants must have completed at least three years of university study.
- Candidates should been awarded a degree for the first cycle of the Bologna process framework of qualifications for the European Higher Education Area.
- The traineeships at the European Court of Human Rights require candidates to have completed a first year of a Master’s degree.
- Applicants must have good knowledge of English or French language.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Candidates must be citizens of one of the member states of the Council of Europe.
- Applicants must not be a parent, child, stepchild or grandchild of a current staff member of the Council of Europe.
- Candidates must not have previously participated in a Council of Europe traineeship, study visit, or have worked with the Organisation in any capacity.
