The Aga Khan Foundation is now accepting applications for the Global Leadership Program 2025 in Canada. The AKF leadership program will take place in both online and in-person formats. The in-person program will be held in Ottawa from November 2 – 6, 2025. The world is experiencing rapid changes due to new economic, social, geopolitical, environmental, and technological forces. This fully funded leadership program will provide a platform for Canadian leaders to examine these forces that are impacting lives worldwide. The program aims to equip leaders and experts with the analytical and practical skills needed to drive change and transform the world.
The Aga Khan Foundation Global Leadership Program 2025 will gather a diverse group of mid-career Canadian professionals from various sectors. Participants will meet and work with others who are also working towards a more prosperous and peaceful future for all. The AKF leaders program will include discussions on diverse themes including climate change, economic transformation, sustainable development, and pluralism. The program will begin in September 2025, and end in June 2026. Participants will remain connected during the whole program through virtual and in-person meetings.
During this professional development program, participants will collaborate with their peers and faculty members and share their knowledge in solving real-world problems. They will explore both local and international challenges and consider their own as well as Canada’s role in solving them. AKFC leadership program will have a hybrid format which will include a combination of online resources, virtual learning sessions, and an in-person fully funded program in Canada (Ottawa) for 4 days. It will cover all participation costs of the event.

Eligibility Criteria for Aga Khan Foundation Global Leadership Program in Canada:
- Applicants should be a citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
- Application should be fluent in English language.
- Applicants should be available to travel and attend the in-person program in Ottawa.
- Applicants must be available to attend minimum 10 virtual learning and coaching sessions before and after the in-person program.
- Applicants must complete all questions of the online application form.
- Applicants must submit all required documentation.
- Applicants should demonstrate a clear interest in the themes of the program.
