Youth Leadership Forum in Iceland 2025

Youth Leadership Forum 2025 is now accepting applications for an exciting fully funded leadership program in Europe. Young leaders are invited to participate in virtual leadership forum and attend an in-person event which will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland, in October 2025. All costs of this physical event will be fully covered including travel, accommodation, and participation cost. The fully funded fellowship offered by ICIMOD and Arctic Circle, will select 12 youth leaders who will form a unique and first-ever HKH-Arctic Youth Leadership Forum.

During the Hindu Kush Himalaya – Arctic Youth Leadership Forum participants will learn valuable skills and knowledge. They will represent their region in monthly online meetings, webinars, and workshops. Young leaders will organise various local, regional, and global campaigns related to climate issues. Through cross-regional collaboration, participants will share their experiences and provide solutions to common challenges.

The HKH–Arctic Youth Leadership Forum will empower and support youth from the Hindu Kush Himalayas and Arctic regions. It will enhance their leadership skills, and will provide a platform to share their perspectives and opinions. Young fellows will share their climate knowledge and materials with different regional and global forums. The youth fellowship program will open doors to more potential opportunities of HKH and Arctic-related conferences and events.

Eligibility Criteria for Youth Leadership Forum in Iceland 2025:

Applicants must be aged 19–35 years.
Applicants must be citizens of an HKH or Arctic country.
You must be part of a youth organisation or program related to climate or environment.
You must show interest in Arctic and/or HKH environmental and climate issues.
Applicants must have leadership potential and should be involved in volunteer work or climate-related activities.
Applicants must be ready to collaborate with other youth climate networks.
Applicants should have dedication to gender equality and inclusive engagement.
They should have excellent English language and public speaking skills.
Applicants should be comfortable with content creation and social media.
Participants must be available for 4–7 hours per month for 1 year.
You must have a laptop and good internet connection.
Applicants must have passport validity for minimum 6 months after October 2025.
