Unleashing Human Rights Forum 2025 in Hungary

Call for participants for the Unleashing Human Rights Forum 2025 in Hungary. Organized by the Council of Europe and OHCHR, in collaboration with European Youth Forum and Amnesty International, HRE will take place from December 9 to 11, 2025, in Budapest, Hungary. Participation is absolutely free with no application or registration fees. The 3-day event, hosted at the European Youth Centre Budapest or in a nearby hotel, will cover travel expenses, visa fees, and accommodation for all participants from 8 to 12 December, 2025.

The fully funded youth forum invites human rights educators to gather, discuss and promote human rights education. HRE forum 2025, will bring together 250 participants from across the world including Europe and beyond. The event will formally begin by speeches on universality of human rights education, by UN and Council of Europe. This Human Rights Conference will include different workshops discussing the current global challenges and their solutions. At the end, the forum will be closed with a farewell evening. What makes the forum more unique is that it will be held during the annual Human Rights Day on 10 December, in Budapest.

Whether you are a youth activist or a volunteer advocating for human rights education, an education professional from formal or non-formal sector, a representative of public or governmental institution, or a representative of international, regional, or national organisation working for human rights education, this global forum is the best place to connect with people of mutual interests. During the Human Rights Forum 2025, participants will discuss diverse topics including digital technologies and human rights, gender equality, and environment and climate change.

Eligibility Criteria for Unleashing Human Rights Forum 2025 in Hungary:

Applicants must fulfill the specific profile of the activities.
Individuals can apply irrespective of their gender, disability, marital or parental status, racial, ethnic or social origin.
Participants can be young activists or advocates for human rights education.
They can be education professionals from formal and non-formal sectors.
Applicants can also be representatives of governmental and public Education institutions.
Young leaders working on projects of civil society organisations human rights education are eligible to apply.
The Partners of the Human Rights Education Youth Program are welcome to apply.
Participants can be representatives of international and regional organisations working for human rights education.
Applicants can also be human rights activists and representatives of national human rights institutions working to promote the right to human rights education.
