Eligiblie Criteria of the Korean Language Speaking Contest:
- Open to foreign nationals who are non-native Korean speakers.
- Eligible for overseas Koreans who do not speak Korean as their first language.
- No age restrictions – participants of all ages can apply.
- Each applicant must choose only one category (either Long-Form or Short-Form).
Korean Language Speaking Contest Video Requirments:
- Short-form videos must be under 1 minute with a resolution of 1080×1920 (vertical format).
- Long-form videos should be 2-3 minutes long with a resolution of 1920×1080 (horizontal format).
- At least 80% of the video must feature the applicant speaking directly without additional footage, music, photos, or images.
- Example: In a 60-second video, at least 48 seconds should show the applicant speaking.
- Subtitles are allowed, but reading directly from a script on screen or failing to meet these requirements may result in point deductions.

- Make a video in Korean – Choose either long-form (2-3 minutes) or short-form (under 1 minute).
- Upload your video on YouTube and add the hashtag #howdykorea in the title.
- Set your video to public so everyone can see it.
- Fill out and submit the online application form by clicking the apply button.
