Applications for The King’s Commonwealth Fellowship 2026, are now open. The fully funded fellowship is a one-year training program including both online and in-person modules. Under the guidance of mentors and professional facilitators, the program will begin with an 18-week online training course, running from February-July, 2026. During the Commonwealth fellowship, fellows will attend live workshops, study modules and other assignments related to the program’s theme. Later on, fellows will attend a five-day in-person program, scheduled in August, 2026, in Fiji. At the end, fellows will be involved in a five-month practical-based applied learning project from August-December, 2026.

Providing fellows an opportunity to learn the practical skills needed to tackle climate crisis, the fully funded professional development program will also give access to a virtual community to exchange ideas. Setting this international fellowship apart from other programs, it will allow participants to continue their employment while taking the online training course. The Climate Resilience Fellowships will bring together professionals from public sector, private sector, and civil society in Commonwealth Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Based on real world experiences, the Climate Change international fellowship 2026 will involve SIDS’ participants in a practical and solutions-focused professional training program. Eligibility Criteria for King’s Commonwealth Fellowship 2026:

  • Applicants should be mid-career professionals with 5-15 years of experience in climate change.
  • Applicants should be currently working in a role related to climate adaptation practice.
  • Applicants must be committed for 10-20 years in this field.
  • Applicants should be currently working at an organisation that is registered in an eligible country. (with a contract till February 2027 or onwards)
  • Candidates must have refugee status or should be citizens of an eligible country.
  • Applicants’ permanent residence should be in an eligible country.
