The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) in the USA is a fully funded opportunity designed to empower future leaders through a transformative conference experience. Individuals aged 24–35 are invited to apply and take part in this unique fully funded leadership program. Participants will have the chance to enhance their leadership skills, gain new perspectives, and build valuable professional connections.
All expenses related to the program will be fully covered so, participants just have to participate with an active and positive mindset. The leaders symposium 2025 will allow attendees to learn from each other’s experiences. It will promote cross-sector and cross-culture collaboration among them. After attending the leaders conference in USA, participants will become part of Alumni network and support USA- Japan relations.
The U.S.-Japan Council’s Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) provides a platform to regional, local, and global leaders from different sectors to discuss the current relation and future of U.S.-Japan partnership. The leaders summit in USA will motivate participants to become strong supporters of U.S.-Japan relations. Candidates will get a chance to interact with top leaders and gain in depth knowledge related to significant topics.

Eligibility Criteria for Emerging Leaders Program in USA 2025:
- Applicants must be Japanese American professionals.
- Candidates should be 24–35 years old.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.
- Candidates must be living in the United States or Japan.
- Applicants must be able to travel to Honolulu for the Annual Conference.
- Participants must have an interest in U.S.-Japan relations which should be evident through professional, academic, or extracurricular activities
- Applicants are required to have leadership experience in professional or community level.
- Leaders must participate in U.S.-Japan Council programs and initiatives.
