Are you a journalist interested in covering an international conference? COP30 CCMP Reporting Fellowship Program in Brazil is offering an exciting opportunity to cover COP30 (30th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties). This fully funded conference will take place from 10-21 November 2025. Participants will also get a chance to attend 2 day World Leaders’ Summit on 6-7 November. The international fellowship program is open to journalists worldwide. It will enable participants to cover and report the climate settlements for audiences in their home countries.
All costs related to the international fellowship program will be covered by CCMP including airfare, accommodation, meals, visa cost, and a stipend. Fellows will work with professional media trainers and gain diverse insights of different nations’ response to the global impact of climate change. Before the COP30 Climate Change Media Partnership Reporting Fellowship, fellows will get technical assistance and informational resources for reporting at the summit. They will attend a virtual workshop to ask relevant questions and discuss reporting opportunities with the trainers.
During the annual climate summit in Brazil, fellows will attend an in-person introductory session with climate experts on critical issues. They will participate in different activities including one on one discussion with the trainers and daily briefings. Fellows will have access to a Trello board to access the resources. Participants of the COP fellowship will attend networking events and participate in different group-building activities including local trips and group refreshments. Fellows can also get a chance to participate as speakers at other events held during the international conference.

Eligibility Criteria for COP30 CCMP Reporting Fellowship Program 2025 in Brazil:
- Applicants must be professional journalists who are part of a well known media house.

- Applicants must not have already attended climate COP before.
- Applicants applying for in-person fellowship must be available to travel to Belem to attend the conference.
- Applicants must have good English language skills.
- Candidates should have experience of reporting climate change issues.
- Applicants must commit to attend all the activities of the fellowship program.
- Freelancers can apply but they should also provide letter of support.
- Stories should be specifically related to climate change issues of the applicant’s country.
- Stories can be in any language but should have a short synopsis in English.
- Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
