The Chevening Europe Defence and Security Fellowship in UK invites mid-career professionals from across Europe. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the fellowship will take place at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Shrivenham. The fully funded program is designed to prepare leaders capable of working within evolving security and defence domains. Fellows will gain applied learning experience related to the challenges faced by governments, international organisations, and public institutions.
During the six week Chevening fellowship in UK, fellows will have discussions, conduct practical exercises, have individual research as well as collaborative learning opportunities. They will develop practical insight into leadership, governance, strategic decision-making, artificial intelligence, and international collaboration.Moreover, participants will develop long term professional networks across Europe and the UK. The program covers full fees, airfare, living expenses and accommodation arrangements.
The program’s structure includes multiple learning approaches including lectures, workshops, simulations, practitioner speakers, research activity, and UK institutional visits. During the fellowship program, participants will receive academic support to work on a research project addressing a relevant policy, leadership, organizational, or security challenge. - Applicants should be mid-career professionals working within government, defence, security, law enforcement, intelligence, civil protection, resilience, or an international organisation in security domains.
- Candidates should be currently working in an influential role within their country.
- They should be willing to apply the knowledge and networks gained within their organisation or country after completing this fellowship.
