UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2025 in Japan:

  • Free accommodation
  • Students will receive a stipend of 270,000 JPY
  • Economy-class airfare to Tokyo, or round-trip train tickets for domestic students, will be covered for program participants.

Eligibility Criteria of the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2025:

  • To apply for the UTokyo internship, candidates must be undergraduate students from universities or colleges that offer bachelor’s degrees, mainly from the Asia region.
  • Applicants must have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies by the time the program starts.
  • They should not be graduating before the program begins and must have at least one semester or quarter of study left after the program ends.
  • Candidates need a strong academic record and an interest in pursuing a research degree, like a Ph.D., in the future.
  • English language skills are required. Non-native English speakers or those whose first language is not English need to provide test scores, with minimum scores as follows:
    • TOEFL iBT: 72
    • IELTS: 5.5 overall band
    • Cambridge English FCE
    • TOEIC: 1095 total (785 for L&R and 310 for S&W)

How to Apply for UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2025:

  • Register on the TAO portal with your full legal name to begin the process.
  • Find the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program in the portal and start your application.
  • Upload Required Documents
  • Request two through TAO, with one from a faculty member.
  •  Ensure all sections are completed; edits cannot be made after submission.
  • Applications are reviewed from February to mid-March, with notifications sent via TAO and email.
