Eligibility Criteria for UST Scholarships 2025:
The University of Science and Technology (UST) in South Korea welcomes international students from all over the world to apply for its Master’s, Ph.D., and Integrated Master’s–Ph.D. programs. To apply, you must meet the following general conditions:
- You and both of your parents must hold non-Korean nationality.
- You must meet the educational requirements depending on the program you choose.
- You must also meet the required English language proficiency (details available in the official guidelines).
Program-wise Academic Requirements:
For Master’s or Integrated Master’s–Ph.D. Programs:
- You must have a Bachelor’s degree,
- Or expect to complete your Bachelor’s by August 2025,
- Or hold a qualification officially considered equal to or higher than a Bachelor’s.
For Ph.D. Program:
- You must have a Master’s degree,
- Or expect to complete your Master’s by August 2025,
- Or hold an equivalent qualification as recognized by Korean regulations.
- If your degree status is unusual or doesn’t clearly match these, you’ll need to provide extra documents to prove its equivalency.
Special Categories:
1. Specialized Master’s Program (LPEM Track):
- Same academic rules as the Master’s program.
- You must have a recommendation letter from LPEM.
- No English test is required for this category.
2. RCA Degree Program Applicants:
- Must be from one of the RCA member countries (like Pakistan, India, Vietnam, etc.).
- Must meet the same academic and language rules as regular Master’s or Ph.D. applicants.
- May receive additional support, such as a bonus scholarship and possible visits to nuclear sites in Korea.
3. KOICA Scholarship (for Uzbekistan only):
- Must be a citizen of Uzbekistan and your parents must not be Korean nationals.
- Must meet the standard academic qualifications for Master’s or Ph.D.
- Must be recommended by a KOICA partner organization or a public company in Uzbekistan.
- Must meet UST’s language requirements.
4. Overseas Koreans:
- Must be a child of Korean citizens who lived outside Korea.
- You must have completed your full education abroad (from elementary through university).
- Must meet the academic and language requirements.
- TOPIK scores are not accepted for this category.
