The Professional Fellows Exchange Program 2026 is a fully funded opportunity for young professionals from South and Central Asia. The duration of the fully funded exchange program is 5-6 weeks. The Professional Fellows for Governance and Society program connects rising leaders from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the United States to share ideas, build networks, and strengthen their understanding of governance and public policy.
This U.S. Department of State-funded program is managed by World Learning. It helps fellows explore how public institutions function in the U.S., learn about good governance, and exchange best practices in policy-making. The fully funded fellowship program is designed to enhance leadership skills, promote collaboration, and support sustainable development in participants’ home countries.
During the two way exchange program, participants will be placed in a U.S.-based organization related to their field. They will attend professional meetings, take part in discussions with key stakeholders, visit important sites, and contribute to the Professional Fellows Congress in Washington, D.C., alongside fellows from other countries.
The Professional Fellows program also offers a chance to better understand American culture and society while strengthening democratic institutions through shared projects. Participants will return home with new knowledge, global connections, and ideas to support civil society and policy initiatives. It’s a one-of-a-kind platform to connect, learn, and lead in governance.
