The McCain Global Leaders Program 2026 is looking for individuals working on global thematic and technical focus areas of their region specified by The McCain Institute. The purpose is to fulfill the demands of a dynamic and complex global environment. During this international leadership program, leaders will participate in regional and global activities to get connected with relevant professional groups in their home regions and a diverse network of global fellows. This initiative will select 25 applicants who will be divided into regional groupings.
By participating in this Global Leaders Program, individuals will continue the legacy of Senator John McCain by standing on the frontline to promote freedom, democracy, and human rights. Leaders will learn skills that are necessary to be advocates of democracy in their home countries and regions. Applicants can be from any educational and professional background, gender, ethnicity, disability status, and political perspective. The McCain fully funded global leadership program will organize both in-person and online learning sessions throughout the program year.
Leaders will receive practical skills training and attend a comprehensive leadership development curriculum which focuses on peer mentoring and group problem-solving. The personal and professional leadership journey of participants will be enhanced through international visits, including Vietnam and other global locations. The McCain leadership training program will prepare today’s emerging leaders to handle tomorrow’s global and regional challenges.

Eligibility Criteria for McCain Global Leaders Program 2026:
- Applicants should be mid- to senior-career professionals.
- Applicants should have strong proficiency in the English language.
- Applicants should have at least five years of professional experience.
- Applicants should be actively working in leadership roles related to the program’s global and regional themes.
- Applicants must commit to attend the complete one-year program, including both online and in-person events.
- There is no age limit and no minimum educational requirement.
