Applications are now open for the Global Development Fellowship 2026. The fully funded program in the UK will run between 2-4 months, at Imperial College London. It offers a monthly stipend of £1,900 for covering the living cost. Along with providing return travel expense, the program also includes a one-off £200 payment on arrival in London. Moreover, the host institute will pay for the standard visa application and Biometrics Residence Permit as well. Eligibility Criteria for Imperial College London Global Development Fellowship 2026:

  • Applicants must be current doctoral students.
  • Candidates should have a passport and should be a permanent resident of a Least Developed (LDC) or Lower Middle Income Country (LMIC).
  • Applicants must be currently studying for their PhD at a university in an LDC or LMIC country.
  • Candidates should have completed over 12 months in their PhD studies.
  • Applicants must have a Letter of Support from an academic host supervisor at Imperial.
  • Applicants should have a Letter of Recommendation from their own supervisor.
  • Students are expected to have a proficient level of English.
  • Applicants holding dual British citizenship cannot apply.
  • Applicants who are permanent residents of a country or are currently studying for PhD in a country that is not considered to be an LDC or LMIC are not eligible to apply.
