Aalto Summer Research Internship Program 2024 is offering a tremendous opportunity to 60 young researchers from all over the world in Finland. Bachelor’s and master’s students will work with the top research groups at Aalto University and will engage in topical research and network in a global setting through this international summer research (internship) program. Students from Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, Arts, and Architecture are encouraged to grab this opportunity if they wish to have international exposure in their academic or professional paths. The paid international internship 2024 will be carried out under the supervision of expert researchers who will provide their valuable feedback side by side during this internship.
Students will get to choose their projects from a list of 53 projects offered by different departments. The university has diverse areas of study which include Computer Science, Mathematics and System Analysis, Applied Physics, Bioproducts and Biosystems, Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation, electronics and Nanoengineering, Information and Communications Engineering, Built Environment, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Participants who have prior knowledge about any of these fields will be at an advantage of getting selected for this summer internship in Europe.
This summer program in Finland will be enhanced by social and cultural events. There will be multiple lunch gatherings where students will get a chance to socialize and learn about the interests and projects of their fellow researchers. They can pair up to share their knowledge which will assist them in their research projects. To keep them hooked throughout the internship period, they will be taken to day trips where they will get to explore worthwhile scenes of Finland.
We all know that the cost of living in another country can be heavy on our pockets. So, to make international students burden-free, they will be paid a salary of 1800 €/ month. This amount will be sufficient for them to cover their living cost and accommodation. The good news is, that the host country will sponsor visa and airfare costs. After completion of this Aalto internship of twelve weeks, participants will have to submit their project findings to the panel of the Aalto community, which will be an approved project after that. Eligibility Criteria for the Aalto Summer Research Program 2024:
Applicants applying:
- Must be physically present on campus for internship (remote participation is not allowed)
- Should be bachelor’s or master’s students
- Must be at least second or third-year undergraduate students
- Have recently completed their masters
- PhD students can not apply directly but can contact the research group to seek further guidance
- Can be from any country in the world except Russia and Belarus (due to EU Sanctions)
- Should have excellent command of the English language
- Should have a good educational background related to the research project that they have selected for this internship.

How to apply for the Aalto Summer Research Program 2024:
- You have to sign in with a valid email address
- Then log in and fill in the online application form
- You can select up to 3 projects in the form
- One motivation letter for all three projects is sufficient
- The motivation letter should not be more than two pages
- Applications can not be edited after the final submission
- If you want to change anything, you will have to delete the application and re-submit the entire application

- A letter of recommendation by a university professor or previous employer
