The Yenching Academy of Peking University is now accepting applications for Yenching Academy China Masters Scholarships 2019. International students and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan can apply for Yenching Academy Scholarship. The Yenching Academy offers masters fellowships in multiple fields of study.
The Peking University Scholarship Program will accept 125 students from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and International Students. This Chinese Scholarship 2019 will cover all the cost of the selected students, including, Full Tuition fees, Accommodation, Living costs, One round-trip travel fare, Field study costs.
The duration of Yenching Academy Scholarship in China is 12 months. The students will complete their course in one year and may write their thesis. Those duration of the program may be extended for those who keep great record. The fellowship for Mainland Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students is for two years in residence.
The Yenching Academy annually enrolls approximately 125 new students from both China and abroad. International students and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan comprise roughly 80% of the student body. Among them, students from the U.S. and Canada are roughly 30%; students from Europe 30%; students from other Asian countries 20%; and students from the rest of the world 20%.
The Yenching Academy of Peking University aims to build bridges between China and the rest of the world through an interdisciplinary master’s program in China Studies. The Academy’s goal is to shape new generations of global citizens with a nuanced understanding of China.

The Yenching Scholar must select one of the six research areas. Research Areas are as follow:
- Economics and Management
- History and Archaeology
- Philosophy and Religion
- Politics and International Relations
- Law and Society
- Literature and Culture
The Yenching Academy China Scholarships 2019 provides a fully funded scholarship to all the selected scholars. The Yenching Academy Fellowship will covers:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation in the Yenching Academy House
- Living costs to cover campus living costs and expenses related to field studies.
- A travel stipend for one round-trip journey to and from Beijing
- Field study costs
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field, awarded no later than August 31, 2019;
- An outstanding academic record;
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary study of China;
- A record of extracurricular achievement, community engagement and social responsibility;
- Leadership potential;
- English proficiency.
*Preference is given to candidates age 25 or younger as of August 31, 2019. For students from countries with mandatory military service, the age preference is 27 years old or younger.
Successful candidates have outstanding academic backgrounds and broad curiosity. They demonstrate strong motivation and potential to become leaders in their chosen fields. Candidates’ personal statements should offer specific and persuasive explanations of how they could benefit from studying in our interdisciplinary China Studies program. Evaluation criteria include academic merit, leadership potential, international experience, and long-term aspirations.
