This year, They will award up to 60 scholarships to applicants from diverse disciplines who will bring their unique perspectives and take action at Trust Conference. The Trust Conference Changemakers Programme offers access to an influential gathering of NGOs, heads of corporations, lawyers, public servants, and philanthropists.

Conference Benefits:

The Thomson Reuters Foundation and the sponsors of Trust Conference will award places to exceptional applicants from across the world. Changemaker selection will be based on an objective rating system developed by the Foundation’s review committee.

Selected applicants will receive:

  • A free day of specialized training and networking with other Changemakers on November 12, 2019
  • Free attendance at the Trust Conference on November 13 and 14, 2019
  • A potential financial bursary to support travel and accommodation costs (up to £1,250).
  • Their name and photo in Trust Conference marketing materials and on the official website.

Scholarship Value:

Selection will be based on a rating system developed by the Changemakers Programme review committee. Successful applicants will use their bursary (if applicable) to cover travel, visa and accommodation costs to attend Trust Conference 2019. There is no further funding available to cover expenses. Support will be awarded in three tiers:

  • Full Scholarship: One non-transferable ticket to attend both days of Trust Conference and a £1,250 bursary to help cover travel and accommodation expenses
  • Partial Scholarship: One non-transferable ticket to attend both days of Trust Conference and a £750 bursary to help cover travel and accommodation expenses
  • Ticket Only: One non-transferable ticket to attend both days of Trust Conference

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The Trust Conference Changemakers Programme is open to all applicants working in the areas of modern slavery, women’s rights, economic empowerment, refugee support, and other human rights areas.
  • Priority will be given to applicants from developing countries who demonstrate that participation in the Trust Conference will enhance their work in their own communities.
